COBRA FORGED TEC ONE LENGTH IRONS 

The Cobra Forged Tec iron is Cobra’s first foray into the hollow construction players iron market and they have produced a club that offers both stunning looks and elite levels of performance.  

At address the head of the Cobra Forged Tec iron looks sleek behind the ball, with minimal offset and should appeal to the eye of the better player. The top line is thicker than you would see on a true blade but certainly isn’t overly thick and the darker face is framed nicely by chrome in the heel and toe. The head size behind the ball isn’t overly large and the designers have done a superb job of concealing the fact these clubs are a hollow headed construction. 

At impact the Forged Tec irons feel soft but also incredibly solid and acoustics are superb, aided by the hollow iron heads being infused with Cobra’s foam microspheres. Performance from these irons is exceptional and they offer consistent distance with a high flight and controllable spin levels. They are far more forgiving than clubs of the size have been historically and this means that the Cobra Forged Tec will suit a huge amount of golfing abilities. 

The Cobra Forged Tec iron is available in one length construction. This is where each iron is made to the same length as a seven-iron totally removing the need for different set ups or swing planes as you move through the set. It is a system that is becoming far more popular and with Bryson De Chambeau now taking his place as a superstar in the golf world, they are likely to become even more so. Bryson has been a huge advocate of the one length iron system and his stellar iron play of late proves that they work. 

There is progressive shaft weighting through the one length set, lighter in the longer irons allowing for a greater ease of launch, and heavier in the shorter irons to assist with control. The general consensus is that for the majority of club golfers, distance gapping will be superior in the one length design. The four-iron looks and feels exactly the same as the seven-iron and the pitching wedge and so it is much easier to find a repeatably good strike.
