MIZUNO JPX 921 HOT METAL 

Mizuno now has one of the most comprehensive iron ranges on the golf market with a club perfectly suited to every level of golfer. The JPX 921 Hot Metal is the easiest iron to hit out of all of them and is a superb performer in the game improvement club category and has seen some important improvements over the previous model. 

The 921 Hot Metal has grown in head size in the mid to long irons to provide a more confidence-inspiring look at address where it is most needed. The short irons have kept to the same size as the 919 to allow for a more precise strike with the scoring clubs. There is also a little more offset to be found now, which is ideal for the golfer who tends to battle to much fade or slice spin on their shots.  

Mizuno’s groundbreaking Chromoly face technology has been improved and, now in its third incarnation, has allowed the clubface on the 921 Hot Metal to be the thinnest Mizuno has ever produced in an iron. The result is incredible ball speeds even on shots that have not been struck out of the centre of the face. 

Spin has also been reduced which lessens the amount of curve on shots but due to their high launching characteristics, the descent angle will be plenty steep enough to allow shots to stop smartly on the green. The Seamless Cup Face is the most complex face geometry in any iron which ensures the maximum possible amount of energy transfer takes place at impact. The Brushed Pearl finish is aesthetically pleasing but also serves the important function of reducing glare off the clubface when over the ball on particularly bright days. 

The sound at impact has been improved by the addition of three sound ribs and the acoustics are extremely sound and provide plenty of feedback on where on the face the ball has been struck. An important factor when trying to improve as a player.
