Over recent seasons Mizuno have upped their driver game an enormous amount to the point where they are now though of as some of the best on the market, producing ball speeds at the very top end of the scale. The ST-G 220 is the latest offering from Mizuno and looks to build on the improvements made in their previous designs through further innovations and advanced technology. The Cortech Face has been refined and uses multi-thickness technology to return maximum ballspeeds, even on off centre hits. Low face strikes perform especially well on the ST-G 220. There are two lateral weight tracks to be found on the sole plate, and now have more distance between them which means any adjustments made on the tracks for more draw or fade bias, will have a greater affect on the ball flight. The Mizuno ST-G 220 has improved feel than it’s predecessor and now provides a tighter range of feel and sound across all the different track settings. An adjustable loft sleeve allows for changes in loft of +/- 2 degrees which provides the golfer with a huge amount of scope to optimise their ball flight.
