TITLEIST TSI 3 DRIVER
The TS series of drivers was undoubtedly the best collection of drivers ever released by Titleist and remained incredibly popular amongst golfers of all abilities for their full, two-year cycle. The fact that the cycle is now coming to an end can only mean one thing, the release of a new Titleist range. The Titleist TSi driver series was first seen in the hands of tour players in September 2020 and the golf world became extremely excited. The drivers were immediately put into play by many non-contracted players including Tommy Fleetwood and Matthew Fitzpatrick. Fortunately for everyone desperate to get their hands on this driver, the wait is now over.
The Titleist TSi 3 driver looks absolutely amazing both resting in a golf bag and when set behind the ball. The sole of the club looks much more futuristic than anything Titleist has created before and it isn’t just for show, there is a lot of new technology in this club. At address the Titleist TSi 3 driver has the perfect pear-shaped profile that better players prefer and its compact appearance belies its 460cc size. The toe is more rounded than on the TS3 and the alignment arrow on the crown has been replaced by TSI text which actually works really well.
The TSi 3 driver is aimed at golfers who are reasonably consistent ball strikers and Titleist have added an innovative CG placement track on the back of the head to position the weight more effectively behind the most likely strike point, if a golfer has a tendency to slightly heel strike the ball, the CG can just be shifted slightly to the heel ensuring maximum ball speed off the face and the same applies for the toe strikers out there.
Using a much harder Aerospace titanium – never before used in golf – has allowed Titleist to produce a face that really does keep ball speeds up on off centre contacts, and this alloy has also dramatically improved the impact acoustics over the previous model. The sound and feel at impact are more of a thud than a metallic one, and gives an explosive sensation, with plenty of the feedback better players desire.
All the heads in the Titleist TSi range have been engineered with improved aerodynamics to enable the clubs to move through the air faster without the need for extra effort. The hosel has 16 different individual settings which can be altered in a matter of seconds using the supplied torque wrench. The SureFit hosel is one of the cleverer designs as it doesn’t require the shaft to be turned round when making adjustments, allowing for the use of non-round grips.
If you are in the market for a new driver that looks stunning but can also really add something to your game, then the Titleist TS1 3 is definitely a stellar option.
