TITLEIST TSI4 DRIVER 

 

For the past few seasons Titleist have released a smaller headed, lower spinning version of their driver range a few months after the initial release and this season is no exception as Titleist have now unveiled the TSi4. With a head size of just 425cc it has a much smaller footprint than most other drivers on the market, something that many players may actually prefer. 

 

For better players, one of the biggest killers of distance is generating too much backspin on drives. Once the spin rate starts to climb over 2500rpm drives will then lose optimal trajectory and start to balloon upwards, especially into the wind.  For many golfers, the quest to find a club that can keep their spin rate in the optimal range can be a never-ending cycle of expensive trial and error. 

 

The Titleist TSi4 is specifically aimed at the golfer who struggles to keep their spin rate down and has a super low and forward CG placement. When combined with the smaller head, spin rates will be seriously reduced and can offer the golfer a solution to their eternal backspin struggles. 

 

To further aid with this the Titleist TSi4 is offered with two low spin stock shafts, The Mitsubishi Tensei RAW White and the Project X HZRDUS Smoke Yellow. The Tensei White has a stiff-tip and low launch profile which will be ideal for the stronger golfer who needs to keep their ball flight down. The HZRDUS Smoke Yellow is a counterbalanced offering which allows for the head-weight to be made heavier without the swing weight being adversely affected. This will result in superior ball speeds and longer drives. 

 

Whilst the Titleist TSi4 certainly isn’t a driver for everyone, it is incredibly good at the job it is designed for. If you are a strong player that has grown tired of a high and floaty ball flight that wastes the speed you have generated, then the TSi4 could be a club from heaven. The low launch, low spin characteristics of the TSi4 has the potential to add significant yardage to your drives.
